Abstract

Since the Covid-19 came, instructural delivery in education has changed from offline to online learning. Due to this pandemic, the government of Indonesia made several decisions on how students should be taught online learning, implementing asyncronous or syncronous. The main point of this study is in implementing asyncronous E-Learning to facilitate the learners with flexible online learning in English. This study aimed to describe the EFL Learners’ experiences as well as motivation of using E-learning in English subject. This qualitative case study used observation, interview and document review for data collection. The research participants of this study were 41 Senior High School students at MAN 3 Jembrana. A purposeful sampling technique was employed to recruit 15 students as the subject in this research. Method and data source triangulation were used to validate the data. The result of this research revealed that most of EFL learners had positive experiences in learning English through asynchronous E-learning. Based on the data, the EFL learners experiences were divided into five categories, they were: 1) Course information access is an activity that students have freedom access to course information in e-learning such as the students could access learning materials in the form of videos, handouts and documents. 2) Autonomous Learning is students were realized that knowledge is important, such as students have iniative to search English materials in the internet, it is help them to comprehend the English materials given by their teacher. 3) Technology Adaptation is adapted another application as medium in teaching and learning process, such as WhatsApp, this application help teacher and students keep in touch in learning process. 4) Web-Based Learning System is often called e�learning because it includes online course content which the English learning materials were provided by their, they are all possible could access through the web. 5) Technical Support was focused on problems that students usually faced during the teaching and learning process through E-Learning such as signal and internet connection. Beside that the results of EFL learners’ motivation during learning English through asynchronous E-Learning in English revealed that their motivation were influenced by two factors: 1) in intrinsic Motivation the students agree that their motivation influenced by their ambition, belief, or dream to learn and gain knowladge. 2) in extrinsic motivation the most of students revealed that their motivation influenced by environmental conditions namely properting facilities (Laptop, handphone, Wifi). Provided the facilitiies made students motivated to keep learning in this situation.
