Abstract
Sentolplantation is one of the assets of former Dutch colonial plantations which were taken over by The Indonesian National Military-Land Force. This plantation is located in Suci village, Panti District, Jember Regency. Meanwhile, its main commodity is rubber tree which is planted on 353.06 hectares of land. The communities around, who live isolated in the SentoolPlantation, are dominated by Muslims. They work as a rubber laborer and rely on their wages from the capitalist system of the factory. The purposes of this community engagement are (1) analyzing the assets owned by the Sentol plantation area, and (2) creating a strategy for developing agro-tourism with the local Islamic community-based on the Sentol plantation. This community engagement uses the Asset Based Community Development (ABCD) method. The results of this community engagement shows that there are natural, individual, social and religious resource assets, can be used to develop this area into an agrotourism object. The development strategy coversshort and long-term strategies. The recent development that has been carried out is creating a swimming pool, photo spots, and planting fruit plants with local Islamic communities
