Abstrak

Islamic boarding schools are one of the unique traditional educational institutions and cannot be found in other institutions. The pattern of pesantren education is that prioritizes moral education or what is called morals. The role taken is that efforts to educate the nation's children are continuously carried out without stopping. Up to now, the role of pesantren education is extraordinary in shaping the character of the nation's children. Not only making it a smart generation, but also a strong and plenary generation of the nation. The three questions that will be answered in this paper are how the pesantren culture forms and the process of its application in developing student character, as well as its impact on student character in MTs. "Unggulan" Al-Qodiri I Jember using a qualitative research approach.
