Abstract

Keywords: Arabic Language Environment, Speaking Skills. The language environment approach ( Bi'ah Lughowiyah ) is to improve learning abilities in foreign languages through the utilization of the environment as a learning resource. Maharah Kalam is one type of productive skill that requires learning ability to pronounce sounds correctly . At the Nurul Jadid Islamic Boarding School there is an institution that teaches foreign languages by creating a language environment. So that students who study there are able to speak foreign languages and often get language competitions outside the pesantren. This study aims to determine the 3 focus problems in this study. how is bi'ah arobiyah in LPBA Nurul Jadid, supporting and inhibiting factors in the application of bi'ah arobiyah in LPBA Nurul Jadid and evaluation of the application of bi'ah arobiyah in LPBA Nurul Jadid . This study use a qualitative method with the type of field research. The data source consists of several words, behavior, circumstances and documents. While the data collection documents using observation, interviews and documentation methods . The data analysis method consists of data exposure, data reduction and grouping and data analysis with critical analysis. The results of this research are as follows: 1) Bi’ah arabiyah is conducted by LPBA Nurul Jadid consists of 2 types, namely Bi’ah arabiya rasmiyah and ghairu rasmiyah . 2) the supporting factors are quite a lot of linguistic activities , Arabic language learning media, teacher skills, administrators are alumni, NATO and BPMA, Suqiyah language learning, student dormitories and quite large student enthusiasm . While the inhibiting factors are differences in student personality, limited time, different student abilities, differences in cultural origin, the influence of friends' languages, student activities outside the dormitory, not feeling at home in the dormitory. 3) Evaluation of the application of bi'ah arobiyah through the outputs and outcomes of LPBA Nurul Jadid.
