Nyai pesantren memiliki posisi yang dilematis dan unik dalam masyarakat Madura. Mereka berada dalam ketegangan antara norma dan tradisi pesantren yang membatasi, di satu sisi, dan peran hegemonik sebagai istri kiai, di sisi lain. Dalam ranah sosial ekonomi, posisi ini memunculkan tindakan yang menarik untuk dikaji. Meskipun terikat pada kepatuhan pesantren, sebagian Nyai mampu menggerakkan dan berperan dalam perekonomian masyarakat. Berdasarkan realitas kontradiktif tersebut, penelitian ini berupaya mengkaji konstruksi tindakan ekonomi Nyai pesantren di Kabupaten Bangkalan.
Fokus penelitian ini adalah : 1) Konstruksi tindakan ekonomi Nyai Pesantren di Kabupaten Bangkalan dengan menggunakan perspektif teori tindakan sosial Max Weber dan ekonomi feminis. Selain itu juga fokus untuk mengurai 2) Implikasi tindakan ekonomi Nyai Pesantren di Kabupaten Bangkalan.
Secara spesifik, penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis 1) Konstruksi tindakan ekonomi Nyai Pesantren di Kabupaten Bangkalan, dan juga untuk menganalisis 2) Implikasi tindakan ekonomi Nyai Pesantren di Kabupaten Bangkalan.
Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan rancangan fenomenologi berbasis kajian lapangan. Subjek penelitian dipilih secara purposif, terdiri dari tiga Nyai di Kabupaten Bangkalan yang dikenal memiliki peran ekonomi signifikan. Pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui observasi pasif, wawancara mendalam, dan studi dokumentasi. Data dianalisis menggunakan model interaktif Miles dan Huberman, dan keabsahannya diuji melalui triangulasi sumber serta metode.
Hasil penelitian menunjukkan tindakan kesadaran ekonomi nyai pesantren. Pertama, tindakan afektif dan tradisional berfungsi sebagai fondasi moral yang didasari empati dan kepatuhan norma. Selain itu, tindakan rasional nilai dan instrumental bersifat strategis, menggunakan tafsir teologis progresif sebagai legitimasi dan mengelola tiga modal: cabisan (pemberian), human capital santriwati, serta jaringan sosial. Kedua, implikasi tindakan ini transformatif: secara sosial menggeser peran Nyai ke agen sosial, dan secara ekonomi menciptakan kemandirian (mikro), efek pengganda (meso), serta keberlanjutan finansial pesantren (makro).

Nyai in Islamic boarding school (Pesantren) occupyan unique and dilemmatic position in Madurese society. They exist in tension between restrictive Islamic boarding school norms and traditions, on the one side, and their hegemonic role as the kiai's wife, on the other. In the socio-economic realm, this position gives rise to interesting practices worth examining. Despite being bound by the pesantren's adherence to its mandate, some Nyai are able to mobilize and play a role in the community's economy. Based on this contradictory reality, this study seeks to examine the construction of economic practices of Islamic boarding school Nyai in Bangkalan Regency.
The focus of this research are: 1) The construction of the economic actions of Nyai Pesantren in Bangkalan Regency using the perspective of Max Weber's social action theory and feminist economics. In addition, it also focuses on analyzing 2) The implications of Nyai Pesantren's economic actions in Bangkalan Regency.
Specifically, this study aims to analyze 1) The construction of the economic actions of Nyai Pesantren in Bangkalan Regency, and also to analyze 2) The implications of the economic actions of Nyai Pesantren in Bangkalan Regency.
This research employed a qualitative approach with a phenomenological design based on fieldwork. The subjects were purposively selected, consisting of three Nyai in Bangkalan Regency known to have significant economic roles. Data collection was conducted through passive observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation studies. Data were analyzed using the Miles and Huberman interactive model, and their validity was tested through triangulation of sources and methods.
The research results demonstrate the economic awareness of Islamic boarding school nyai. First, affective and traditional actions serve as a moral foundation based on empathy and adherence to norms. Furthermore, rational, value-based and instrumental actions are strategic, employing progressive theological interpretations as legitimacy and managing three forms of capital: cabisan (gifts), the human capital of female (santriwati) students, and social networks. Second, the implications of these actions are transformative: socially shifting the role of nyai to that of social agents, and economically creating independence (micro), a multiplier effect (meso), and the financial sustainability of Islamic boarding schools (macro).

تَشغَلُ شيخة المعاهد الاسلامية موقعًا مميّزًا ومعقدة داخل المجتمع المادوري، إذ تقف في حالةٍ من التوتر بين الأعراف والتقاليد الصارمة التي تُنظّمها من جهة، وبين مكانتها البارزة بوصفها زوجةً الشيخ (Kiai ( من جهة أخرى. وعلى المستوى الاجتماعي والاقتصادي، يطرح هذا الواقع إشكالاتٍ جوهريةً تستوجب البحث. فرغم خضوعها للضوابط التي تفرضها المعاهد الاسلامية، فإن بعض الشيخات يملكن القدرة على الحشد والمشاركة في الحياة الاقتصادية للمجتمع. وانطلاقًا من هذا التناقض، تهدف هذه الدراسة إلى تحليل تركيب الأنشطة الاقتصادية شيخة المعاهد الاسلامية في منطقة بنكلان.
تتمحور هذه الاطروحة حول أمرين رئيسيين: ١) تشييد الأعمال الاقتصادية لشيخة ( (Nyaiالمعاهد الاسلامية في منطقة بنكلان، وذلك في إطار نظرية ماكس فيبر حول الفعل الاجتماعي وبالاستفادة من مقاربات الاقتصاد النسوي. وتركز أيضًا على ٢) تحليل النتائج المترتبة على الأنشطة الاقتصادية التي تقوم بها شيخة المعاهد الاسلامية في منطقة بنكلان.
وتهدف هذه الاطروحة على وجه التحديد إلى تحليل ١) تشييد الأعمال الاقتصادية لشيخة ( (Nyaiالمعاهد الاسلامية في منطقة بنكلان، و كذلك على ٢) تحليل النتائج المترتبة على الأنشطة الاقتصادية التي تقوم بها شيخة المعاهد الاسلامية في منطقة بنكلان.
اعتمد هذه الاطروحة المنهج النوعي بتصميم ظاهراتي يستند إلى المعاينة الميدانية. وقد جرى اختيار العينة بصورة دقيقة، فشملت ثلاثة شيخات في منطقة بنكلان تُعرَف بنشاطها الاقتصادي البارز. وجُمعت البيانات عبر الملاحظة السلبية، والمقابلات المتعمقة، إلى جانب مراجعة الوثائق. وتم تحليل البيانات وفق النموذج التفاعلي لمايلز وهوبرمان، بينما جرى التحقق من مصداقيتها عبر المقارنة والتثليث بين مختلف المصادر والأساليب.
تبين نتائج الاطروحة عن وجود مستوى متقدم من الوعي الاقتصادي لدى شيخة المعاهد الاسلامية. أولًا تُعدّ الأفعال العاطفية والتقليدية قاعدة أخلاقية ترتكز على التعاطف والالتزام بالأعراف السائدة. وإلى جانب ذلك، فإن الأفعال العقلانية والقيمية والعملية تكتسب طابعًا استراتيجيًا، حيث تُوظَّف التأويلات اللاهوتية التقدمية كوسيط للشرعية، ويُستثمر ثلاثة أنواع من رأس المال: (cabisan) الهدايا، ورأس المال البشري للطالبات، وشبكات العلاقات الاجتماعية. ثانيًا، تتسم نتائج هذه الأفعال بطابع تحويلي؛ فهي تعيد تشكيل موقع الشيخة اجتماعيًا ليصبحوا فاعلين في المجتمع، وتُنتج اقتصاديًا مستويات متعددة من التأثير: الاستقلالية على المستوى الجزئي، والأثر المضاعف على المستوى المتوسط، وتعزيز الاستدامة المالية للمعاهد الاسلامية على المستوى الكلي
