Abstract
Learning of Integrated Natural and Social Sciences (IPAS) in the fifth
grade at MI Nurul Islam Kunir Lor Lumajang indicated a problem in the form of
low student learning motivation, particularly in the topic of food chains. This
condition was characterized by students who tended to be passive, less
enthusiastic, less focused, and experienced difficulties in understanding the
learning material because the learning process was still teacher-centered and had
not optimally utilized digital learning media. The impact of this condition was
reflected in low active participation, learning perseverance, curiosity, learning
interest, and students‟ positive attitudes toward learning. Therefore, instructional
innovation was needed to create a more engaging, interactive, and meaningful
learning environment through the use of digital learning media, one of which is
Articulate Storyline.
This study aimed to describe the implementation and evaluation of
learning using Articulate Storyline media in enhancing the IPAS learning
motivation of fifth grade students at MI Nurul Islam Kunir Lor Lumajang. The
focus of the study was directed toward how teachers implemented Articulate
Storyline media in learning activities and how the evaluation process was
conducted to identify the development of students‟ learning motivation during the
learning process.
This study employed a qualitative approach with a descriptive research
design. The research subjects consisted of the fifth grade teacher and fifth grade
students at MI Nurul Islam Kunir Lor Lumajang. Data collection techniques
included observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation. Data validity was
ensured through source triangulation and technique triangulation, while data
analysis used the Miles and Huberman model, which included data reduction, data
display, and conclusion drawing.
The results showed that: (1) the implementation of Articulate Storyline
media in IPAS learning was carried out systematically through introductory, core,
and closing activities by utilizing animations, food chain simulations, interactive
quizzes, and student worksheets (LKPD) as the center of students‟ learning
activities. This implementation was able to enhance students‟ learning motivation
as indicated by five indicators, namely the desire to succeed or understand the
material, learning drive, interest and attraction, active participation, perseverance,
positive attitudes, learning expectations, and the creation of a conducive learning
environment. (2) Learning evaluation was conducted through observation of
learning motivation, assessment of group and individual student worksheets,
student reflection, and follow-up activities in the form of enrichment and remedial
programs. Therefore, it can be concluded that the implementation of Articulate
Storyline media was effective in enhancing the IPAS learning motivation of fifth
grade students through active, interactive, and meaningful learning experiences.
