Abstract

This research is based on the number of complaints from the thesis supervisor of Arabic Language Education students at IAIN Jember during the guidance process. This certainly requires them to work harder in understanding student writing in their thesis proposals. This is because the word-for-word arrangement they write is so difficult to understand due to syntactically inconsistent results. Until then it becomes inconsistent when viewed from semantic aspects. The purpose of this study is: (1) Describe syntactically correct sentences but seem difficult to understand meaningfully, (2) Analyzing the correct amount syntactically but seems difficult to understand meaningfully, (3) Describe the factors causing these errors. The study uses a qualitative approach with descriptive analysis. The results of this study are there are 31 errors in the number of correct arrangements in the syntax aspect but cannot be understood in a meaningful way. The causes of the error include weaknesses in Arabic rules and the use of lexical translations. Keywords: Semantics, Translation, Syntax
