Abstract

Early marriage has been accustomed in Madura. Act 16 in 2019 explained that marriage can be implemented if both of the brides has 19 years old. They add the age to their marriage certificate without asking for marriage dispensation from a religious court. This is carried out to diminish malo and tade’ ajhinah in the social environment caused by Marriage by Accident and get a legal marriage. The problem above will describe how Early marriage happened in Madura from a Structural Functionalism perspective. This research uses a qualitative approach and case study. The data was collected by using interviews, observation, and documentation. The result; 1). The early marriage performed by the young couple “under 19 years old “by adding the age in the marriage certificate because of pregnant, becomes a moral burden that causes shamed and tade’ ajhinah. 2). structural functionalism of Early marriage, Adaptation; adaptation process of the actor to the social system i.e. married by adding the age. Goal-Attainment; This marriage aims to get registered marriage and to improve the family's dignity. Integration; disintegration between social system and organizational structure. Latency; Madurese must maintain and sustain well-regarded cultural patterns such as their obedience and reverence of both their own dignity and others.
