Many English foreign language students often feel that learning spoken English is frustrating quite differently. In the modern-day, the educational system relies on technology that may incorporate different teaching strategically, which may be favorable to increase students speaking performance. However, there were limited studies to consider developing teaching media integrated into technology. The purpose of this study is to propose a digital word wall media using QR Codes in the form of posters and ID Cards that will be applied to the students in the middle of the learning process, especially for speaking skill.

The research question was formulated “What an instructional media in teaching speaking skills is designed and met requirements for the tenth graders of Senior high school on Descriptive text?”. This research aims to examine the feasibility and practicality in speaking skills for the tenth graders of Senior high school on Descriptive text.

In this research, the researcher used design and development research (D&D) adopted from Peffers model that consists of six procedures including Identifying the problem, describing the objectives, designing and developing the artifact, testing the artifact, evaluating testing results, and communicating the testing results. Data collection techniques employed an observation checklist, interview guide, expert judgment rubric, and questionnaire for students. A questionnaire (Google form) is a tool chosen by the researcher to examine the feasibility and practicality of the product. The test was administered once only on Thursday 4th May, 2023. The research subject was tenth graders of SMA Argopuro Panti in the academic year 2022/2023. The researcher used the digital word wall media to assist students’ fluency in speaking skill and to examine the feasibility and practicality of the product use.

The category of success from each collection data: 0-10% (Very Poor), 11%-39% (Poor), 40%-55% (Average), 56%-75% (Good), and 76%-100% (Excellent). The results obtained from each collection data, observation checklist (66%) which means the results are good categorized. Media expert judgment rubric (73%) which means the results are good categorized. Material expert judgment rubric (60%) which means the results are good categorized. Questionnaire of feasibility (91%) which means the results are excellent categorized, and questionnaire of practicality (88%) which means the results are excellent categorized. Thus, the researcher concludes that the utilization of digital word wall media meets the requirements to be applied for teaching speaking skills at SMA Argopuro Panti on Descriptive Text if looked at from each result of collection data. The researcher also recommend for the distribution of product development must pay attention to the amount and characteristics of students so that product distribution is not in vain.
