ABSTRACT
Qurrotul Ayun, 2024: The Use of Watching Movie on Learning English Speaking at Eleventh Grade of Humaniora SMAN 1 Jember.
Key Words: Watching Movie, Speaking English
Learning media is one of way to deliver material in lesson. The used of media as tool in learning process give great benefits for students. Movie is one of media that can help students who want to improve their speaking skills. By watch- ing movies, it can practise students to see, hear and learn new vocabulary and it can improve student English pronunciation and also can learn the intonation in every sentence spoken.
The research focus forms as follow; 1) How was the use of watching mov- ie on learning English speaking at eleventh grade of humaniora SMAN 1 Jember?
2) How was the evaluation of watching movie on learning English speaking at eleventh grade of humaniora SMAN 1 Jember. And to answer the research focus above the researcher made research objective as below; 1) To describe the use of watching movie on learning English speaking at 11 Grade of humaniora class SMAN 1 Jember. 2)To describe the evaluation watching movie on learning Eng- lish speaking at 11 Grade of humaniora class SMAN 1 Jember.
This research utilized qualitative approach particularly a descriptive as the research design. This research was conducted at SMAN 1 Jember. While, the re- searcher selected the purposive sampling with the subject were the English teach- ers and four students of the eleventh grade oh Humaniora. The data collection consisted of: observation, interview, and document review. Besides, this research used data analysis technique from Miles Huberman and Saldana that includes; da- ta condensation, data display, and drawing and verifying conclusion.
Last, the data validity was clarified from source triangulation and tech- nique triangulation. The findings of the research were; 1) the use of watching movie on learning English speaking were; a) teacher made teaching modul. b) teacher was selected the good movie, in this part the teacher used Puss in Boots movie. Puss in Boots is animated movie that very famous on teenager nowdays. c) teacher known the occur and obstacles during teaching and learning process d) teacher was prepared the tools that will be used during the teaching and learning process such as, projector, laptop and view. 2) the evaluation of watching movie on learning English speaking were; a) formative evaluation. In formative evalua- tion the teacher assessing students by storytelling methods.
