Qorina Fathinal Amri, 2024: Designing an English Speaking Pocket Book Assisted by QR Code Technology for The 7th Grade Students of English Language Development Class Program at MTs Al Amien Ambulu.

Keywords: English Speaking, Pocket book, QR Code.

Teaching materials that integrate Information and Communication Technology (ICT) were an important element in the learning process. Through teaching materials that were integrated with ICT, the material displayed more interactively, more flexibly, could save time, and could be used for learning anywhere and anytime. The teaching materials that have been used at MTs Al Amien Ambulu, especially in the Language Development Class Program, were not suitable for the objectives of this class. The teaching materials used were only worksheet books (LKS) which are not attractive, not effective and not efficient because they are not in accordance with the objectives of this class.
This research was development research that used the PPE development model from Richey & Klein which consists of the Planning, Production, and Evaluation stages. The product trial was carried out once, it was in a random group consisting of 15 class 7D students with different abilities according to their level of achievement starting from high, medium, and low which was carried out after the validation process by the experts. The data analysis techniques used in this research are quantitative and qualitative descriptive analysis techniques. Quantitative descriptions were obtained from validation results by three experts in the form of percentages and suggestions, while qualitative analysis used data triangulation by Miles and Huberman obtained from small response students.
The result of the material validation was 73%. The media expert validation result was 82.5%. The language validation result was 74%. These results indicate that the teaching materials that have been developed fulfill the standard criteria but still need revision. Trials related to attractive, effective, and efficient pocket books were obtained from student and teacher responses. From this trial, this pocket book was interesting as seen from the increased enthusiasm of the students. Second, this pocket book is effective, which can be seen from the opinions of students who say that this book is easy to learn and concise, so it is very effective to use as teaching material. Third, this pocket book can be said to be efficient because of the teacher’s opinion that this book shortens learning time, so that the remaining time can be used for student memorization/practice.
Based on the results presented above, it concluded that the pocket book as developed teaching material with QR Codes was more attractive, effective and efficient from previous teaching materials used in the Language Development Class Program at MTs Al Amien.
