Education is a process that integrates the interaction between teachers and students in an educational setting to achieve specific objectives. The subjects of Natural and Social Sciences, now referred to as Integrated Natural and Social Sciences (IPAS), represent a new curriculum that combines natural and social sciences into a single textbook. Islamic-based education integrates religious values to help students understand and apply religious aspects in their lives, as well as deepen their understanding of religious beliefs and values.
The objectives of this research are: (1) To determine the validity of the material and media in the development of Islamic-Integrated Natural and Social Sciences teaching materials for the 4th grade at MI Nurul Islam 02 Balungkulon. (2) To assess the student's response to the development of these materials. (3) To evaluate the effectiveness of the developed Islamic-Integrated Natural and Social Sciences teaching materials for the 4th grade at MI Nurul Islam 02 Balungkulon.
The research method used in this development is the Research and Development (R&D) method. This method is used to produce and test the effectiveness of a particular product. In this study, the ASSURE model of development was employed, which consists of analyzing learners, State Objectives, Select Strategies, Methods, and Materials, Utilize Technology and Media, Require Learner Participation, Evaluating, and Revise.
The results of the research are as follows: (1) The teaching materials were validated by four experts: a content/material expert, a language expert, a design expert, and a practitioner. Based on the evaluation summary from the four validations, the average score was 85.33%. This indicates that "the developed teaching materials are highly suitable for use in teaching activities." (2) The student's response to the attractiveness of the book was very positive, with an attractiveness rating of 94.64%, indicating that the product is highly engaging and can be used effectively. (3) The pre-test average score was 65,7083, while the post-test average score was 91,2083. Based on the t-test, the calculated value was 0.000 < 0.001, meaning that the null hypothesis (no difference in the average learning outcomes between the pre-test and post-test) is rejected, and the alternative hypothesis (a difference in the average learning outcomes between the pre-test and post-test) is accepted. The field test results conclude that the Islamic-Integrated Natural and Social Sciences teaching materials for the 4th grade developed by the researcher are effective for use.
