Abstract

Azkiyah Amalina 2021 : "The Impact of Final Project of Microteaching to develop the Teaching English Reading skill for last grade at Baitul Arqom Islamic Boarding School, in academic year 2020/2021" Supervisor: H. Moch Imam Machfudi, Ph.D Key words: Microteaching, The Impact, Teaching English Reading Skill Microteaching is a teaching practice program that aims to maintain the teaching skills of prospective teacher to be a professional teacher, where the practice has important elements, such as strategies, methods, media and a good teaching curriculum according to the standardization that has been determined. In order to achieve the real National Education System based on the law No. 20 of 2003 in chapter 1 article 3. Seeing the phenomenon that occurs in the field, the strategy in the teaching arts that was applied by an education scholar (English education department) still can not reach the target of teacher professionalization goals. Undergraduates are indeed a measuring tool for the professionalization of teachers, but students who graduate from Baitul Arqom Islamic Boarding School can already do practice teaching systematically. And without a bachelor's degree they have been able to implement 8 components of basic teaching skill in the world of community service. According to the background of the study above, the focus of this research are: 1) How does the final project of Microteaching develop Teaching English Reading Skill of last grade at Baitul Arqom Islamic Boarding School in academic year 2020-2021?, 2) How is the implementation of basic teaching skill in developing the final project of Microteaching for teaching English reading skill of last grade at Baitul Arqom Islamic Boarding School in academic year 2020-2021? This research approach is to use the Qualitative Case Study approach, with a field research base, and use purposive sampling techniques, with 3 data sources, namely: Interview, Observation, and Documentation. Data analysis techniques use qualitative techniques from Miles and Huberman, furthermore to validate the data the researcher used triangulation techniques and sources. The research concluded that the annual microteaching program implemented at Baitul Arqom Islamic boarding School has a guidance book that becomes the standardization of teaching, namely the book "Tarbiyah Amaliyah" and it has been completed with list of strategies, methods and making RPP (Learning Implementation Plan). Besides the eighth components of basic teaching skill of microteaching has been implemented in the microteaching program of Baitul Arqom Islamic Boarding School with the guidance from the supervisors.
