Abstract
Siti Rohani, 2022: “The Implementation of Teaching English Through E-learning Madrasah at Second Grade of MAN 1 Jember”

Teaching English is a process of distributing knowledge regarding any of which is linked to English, including listening, speaking, reading, and writing. During the process, communication between teachers and students affects the students’ achievement. Face-to-face learning is the best way to reach the communication. Therefore, in 2019, Indonesia got a virus COVID-19 outbreak which caused teaching and learning process should be done online. In this case, distance learning was the most effective way to still conduct the learning process. Meanwhile, Ministry of Religion (KEMENAG) attempted to give solution by creating E-learning Madrasah, a free product application which aims to support teaching and learning process at school. However, E-learning Madrasah could only be implemented in some schools only due to unprepared facilities. Apparently, MAN 1 Jember is one of some schools that use this application. Both teachers and students found this application useful. Therefore, the researcher was interested in conducting her research at MAN 1 Jember.
This research focuses are: 1) What is the goal of teaching English through E-learning Madrasah at second-grade of MAN 1 Jember? 2) What is the material does the English teacher use in implementing E-learning Madrasah at second-grade of MAN 1 Jember? 3) How is the procedure of teaching English through E-learning Madrasah at second-grade of MAN 1 Jember? 4) How is the evaluation of teaching English through E-learning Madrasah at second-grade of MAN 1 Jember?
To gain the data, the researcher conducted field research at MAN 1 Jember, by applying qualitative research; descriptive qualitative research. While analyzing the data, the researcher used Miles and Saldana’s Theory, which consists of three steps, namely data condensation, data display, and conclusion drawing. Then, in data collection techniques, the researcher used observation, interview, and document review. Last, for data validity, the researcher used source triangulation and technical triangulation.
The result of the research are 1) The goals of implementing E-learning Madrasah at MAN 1 Jember is to organize online learning; teacher could set the class, share the material, conduct quiz and examination and the students could be easier submitting assignment and finding material. 2) The material in implementing E-learning Madrasah at second-grade of MAN 1 Jember was about Hortatory Exposition. 3) The procedure of E-learning Madrasah implementation at MAN 1 Jember was as follows: first, teacher gave the direct instruction at WhatsApp group to fill the attendance list at E-learning Madrasah and checked it. Second, the learning process was asking students to browse. Third, the students resume the material. Forth, the teacher uploaded the material prepared (PPT); the students’ task was to compare the result of their resume to the material given by the teacher. At the end of the learning process students were requested to find out the example of hortatory. The task should be hand-writing and uploaded at E-Learning Madrasah. 4) The evaluation of E-learning Madrasah implementation at MAN 1 Jember was; the teacher instructed the students to sum up each material every meeting by hand-writing, then the teacher would correct the daily task by revising ungrammatical writing or wrong explanation.
