This research aimed to analyze moral values in Demon Slayer Mugen Train movie related to nowadays phenomenon where the human race was about reaching out an urgent period of moral degradation in this era.
Movie was one of the products born from the development of technology which was most interested by most people. As a result, movie has its own place for people who like watching movie. A movie might be functioned as a media to deliver moral values, one of which was in Demon Slayer Mugen Train movie that absolutely was very interesting to be discussed because it contained a lot of moral values. This research discussed moral values that contained in Demon Slayer Mugen Train movie based on the theory of Linda and Eyre.
There were two research questions in this research, those were: (1) What moral values are found in Demon Slayer Mugen Train movie based on main character? and (2) How many times moral values are found in Demon Slayer Mugen Train movie based on main character? The objectives of this research were: (1) To find out moral values contained in Demon Slayer Mugen Train movie based on main character and (2) To find out how many times moral values are found in Demon Slayer Mugen Train movie based on main character.
To answer the questions, the researcher used qualitative as the approach in analyzing the moral values spoken by main character, Tanjiro. The research design was descriptive where this research was done by analyzing and describing research object supported by theories, source of literature and documents. The data of this research were utterances and script of Demon Slayer Mugen Train movie. The comprehension of the researcher was involved within the conclusion and results of the assessment as one of the research instruments. Technique of data collection was document analysis. Data analysis of this research was content analysis. The validity of data used data triangulation where the researcher used experts as the validator.
After analyzed the data, the researcher found some findings: 1. the moral values were represented in this movie were value of being and value of giving. a) Value of being consisted of honesty, bravery, peaceability, self-confidence, and discipline. b) value of giving consisted of loyalty, respect, love, unselfishness, kindness, and justice. 2. Moral Values were found eighty-five (85) times. Value of being was represented forty-one (41) times, and value of giving was represented forty-four (44) times.
